About Roosevelt Adventures...
Roosevelt Adventures is run by experienced counselor's from Roosevelt and the surrounding towns, and we are lucky enough to have built a community that our staff and campers are proud and excited to return to each summer.

We have been running programs which highlight outdoor skills and social-emotional development through Roosevelt Adventures since 2019 and our staff has been directing camps in the area for over a decade! We have and continue to build our culture and curriculum around the needs and goals of the campers, with a focus on stepping outside our comfort zone, working on how we deal with ourselves and others, and of course respecting everyone for who and where they are.
We will be out on bike rides, trail journeys, and kayak explorations, working on our outdoor skills, developing leadership tools, practicing creative arts, learning about our community, and building our community, through adventures, challenges, and of course the traditional camp games….. ALL led by experienced counselors who grew up in and around your community! Taking advantage of all the incredible beauty of Roosevelt, the Assunpink Wildlife Preserve, and the surrounding area's we use the whole community as our campground (while practicing Leave No Trace principles of course).

We are very proud that in 2024 we helped provide outdoor teachable moments and adventure opportunities for the youth of our community for over 2400 hours combined! Our local staff has been working with the youth of the area for a combined 50 years and cannot wait to continue developing our activities and adventures this year!
Meet the team!

GUS
Hello! My name is Gus and I am the Camp Director for Roosevelt Adventures. I graduated from Northeastern University in 2016 and started Roosevelt Adventures in 2019. I grew up in Roosevelt and it is my FAVORITE THING IN THE WORLD to be able to share the incredible outdoor experiences our town and the Assunpink provides with the even more incredible kids of our area. My favorite camp activities are fishing, crazy handball/ultimate/soccer, and EXPLORING! Outside of camp I love traveling, climbing mountains, and writing songs/poems. Hope to see you outside this summer!
RHIANNON

Hiii! I am Rhiannon Al-Saadi, I have been working at Roosevelt Adventures since its creation. Currently, I attend Rider University as an education and history major. I hope to teach high school history once I graduate. Which leaves my summers perfectly open for Roosevelt Adventures ;) I love working with children, once I was too old for camp I immediately started volunteering! For fun, I like to read, pet my cat, watch TV, and eat watermelon. I am especially good at arts and crafts, but like everyone else at camp love a good kayaking day! My best camp day would be doing a craft, on a kayak, with a cat, eating watermelon (both the cat and I would be eating watermelon). That's probably not possible though, so I guess every camp day is the best day since I get to spend it with our awesome campers!
ALEJANDRO

Hi! My name is Alejandro and I have been a counselor with the Roosevelt Adventures team for the last four years. I am currently studying mathematics and philosophy at Brown University over in Rhode Island. A couple things about me: I LOVE music, jumping (for fun and as a sport!), and of course…Capture the Flag! I have had social and creative ties to Roosevelt for the better part of the last decade and, from the very beginning, have found it to be one of the absolutely best places to be our BEST selves. The self that never lost that childlike spirit. The self that runs as fast as you can just to reach the top of that hill…(and back down again!!). The self that knows that the swaying of a kayak in one of Roosevelt’s beautiful lakes can be as impactful as the swaying of our emotions—our ups and downs at school, at home, and with ourselves. At our camp, every day is an exciting jump to discover your creative, explorative, and inquisitive self. So excited to see you all again this summer! :)
JASON

What's up! I am Jason and this will be my third summer as a counselor for Roosevelt Adventures, and second as a counselor for the teen camp. I am a rising sophomore at NC State University in Raleigh, North Carolina studying mechanical engineering. I grew up in East Windsor, and graduated from Hightstown High School, but have been tied to Roosevelt for a while now. I absolutely love everything Roosevelt Adventures has to offer, from its 100% outdoor nature to all of the unique and impactful memories we make. My favorite camp activities are Capture the Flag, bike rides, hikes, and visiting new places! Outside of camp, I love rollerblading, running, playing guitar, and spending time in nature. Can't wait to see everyone again this summer!

ADINA
Hi! My name is Adina and I am a counselor at Roosevelt Adventures Camp. I started as a volunteer, and I absolutely love everything about this camp! I love hiking, splashing, and playing games with all the fantastic Roosevelt kids. These past summers acquainted me with my town in a way I've never experienced before. Outside of camp, I love playing with my dog and reading books. I also love singing and playing music with the Saks Family Band at home. I am so excited for more adventures this summer!
